MILWAUKEE, WI (May 7, 2023) – The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association (WBA) honored WISN 12 with 29 awards for excellence in broadcasting and journalism. These prestigious accolades include ‘Station of the Year’ and ‘News Operation of the Year.’ WISN 12 has received the ‘Station of the Year’ award for 8 out of the last 9 years. Along with earning the top honors, WISN 12 also won 14 first-place awards, 8 second-place awards and 5 third-place awards.“WISN 12 is honored to serve the viewers of Southeastern Wisconsin and connect them to the big stories of the day, breaking news, and programming that informs, inspires, and entertains,” says Jan Wade, president and general manager of WISN 12. “These prestigious awards also recognize the hard work and dedication of the WISN 12 staff; a group I am proud to work alongside of every day.”The first-place awards cover on-air categories such as morning newscast, evening newscast, sportscast, weather coverage, continuing coverage, spot news, live on-scene reporting, specialty programming, and election coverage.
