THE BLACKHAWKS ON AND OFF THE FIELD. THE GRAFTON BLACKHAWKS JOURNEY TO STATE KICKED OFF WITH A MIDNIGHT PRACTICE ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SEASON. FOUR MONTHS LATER, THE DIVISION THREE CONTENDERS HEAD TO CAMP RANDALL WITH EVERYTHING ON THE LINE. WHEN IS THE LAST TIME GRAFTON WENT TO THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME? IN 1984. WERE YOU BORN YET? NO. PROBABLY NOT. EVEN A THOUGHT AT THAT POINT? YEAH. LET’S GET IT MOVING, BOYS. LET’S GO. THE TEAM IS READY. THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS, WE’VE OBVIOUSLY FALLEN SHORT FROM THE GOAL. AND I MEAN, IT’S JUST SURREAL TO BE ABLE TO SHARE THIS WITH THIS SPECIAL OF A TEAM. IT’S KIND OF BEEN LIKE THIS UNREACHABLE THING, JUST KIND OF OFF IN THE BACKGROUND NOW. IT’S LIKE, DUDE, WE DID IT. AND YES, IT’S BEEN FOUR DECADES SINCE GRAFTON WENT TO THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, BUT THEY WOULD LOVE TO ADD ANOTHER GOLD BALL TO THEIR TROPHY CASE. THE WHOLE COMMUNITY BEHIND US DEFINITELY WILL HELP US PERFORM ON FRIDAY. HEY, BLACK ON WHITE. BLACK ON WHITE. LET’S GO AND FORGIVE HEAD COACH JIM NORRIS FOR BEING EXTRA TIRED. HIS WIFE DELIVERED A BABY BOY THIS WEEK. YEAH, MY WIFE, WE HAD OUR SECOND SON MONDAY AT ABOUT 2:00. SO IT’S BEEN A LONG, LONG COUPLE DAYS, BUT IT’S BEEN AWESOME. IT’S AN EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER FOR ME AND I’M NOT EVEN HAVING A KID. I DON’T KNOW HOW HE DOES IT. I DON’T THINK I COULD HAVE A KID AND HAVE THIS A BIG GAME LIKE THIS COMING UP. SO YOU HAVEN’T HAD TO WAKE HIM UP DURING PRACTICES YET? NO, NOT. NOT YET. HE SAID THE CAFFEINE SAVING HIM RIGHT NOW. SO HOPEFULLY IT CONTINUES WORKING. AND THE WHOLE TOWN IS HOPING
