Enchant Christmas holiday light display is now open at Franklin Field. According to Enchant, it's the world's largest holiday light maze.
Guests follow the maze's storyline: all of Santa's reindeer have escaped, and guests have to help find them all.
"Christmas is counting on you finding all nine of those reindeer," the elves told patrons as they came in.
Enchant Christmas had thousands of visitors on its opening night. Organizers expect around 250,000 people to visit over the course of 29 nights.
It's an opportunity to get out and see the dazzling lights, but many families also look forward to spending quality time together.
"We love getting together for Thanksgiving and Christmas and seeing all the joy and celebration," said Tamara Melchert, who was visiting the display.
Families are hoping to start new holiday traditions.
"The kids all sleep over and then we do something fun to get in the holiday spirit," said Kristin Haute, who was visiting with her children.
Organizers are hoping to start a new tradition as well.
"Our biggest goal with this event is to make it a legacy goal — a tradition, if you will. So we plan on doing this year over year," said Roc Ventures CEO Mike Zimmerman.
The event also has live music, an ice skating rink and more than 30 local vendors.
Organizers expect Enchant Christmas to bring in more than $30 million in economic impact for southeast Wisconsin. The event runs through Dec. 31.
