MORNING RIGHT HERE AT NINE. NEW TONIGHT, MILWAUKEE COUNTY SAW A BIG JUMP IN COVID CASES OVER THANKSGIVING. THAT’S ACCORDING TO THE COUNTY’S TOP HEALTH POLICY ADVISOR. DR. BEN WESTON POSTED THIS CHART ON SOCIAL MEDIA THIS MORNING. THE COUNTY HAS ITS HIGHEST HOSPITALIZATIONS IN NEARLY A YEAR AND ITS HIGHEST POSITIVITY CASES IN NEARLY TWO YEARS. Milwaukee County sees an increase in COVID cases over Thanksgiving, according to Dr. Ben Weston

According to the latest information released by the Centers for Disease Control, the Midwest region has the highest increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations.Wisconsin, specifically Milwaukee County, has seen the highest spike in hospitalizations since January of this year. Milwaukee County Chief Health Policy Advisor Dr. Benjamin Weston says this is the county's highest positivity in nearly two years and the highest number of hospitalizations in almost one year in COVID-19 cases over Thanksgiving. According to Milwaukee County, less than one third of the county residents 65 and older received an updated vaccine this fall.
