Renderings: New U.S. Cellular Connection Stage to debut in 2018
Tthe U.S. Cellular Connection stage will be torn down and rebuilt for 2018.
Construction is slated to begin as soon as next year's Big Gig is over.
The new space will seat 9,000 people. In the area around the stage will be charging stations in benches so music lovers can charge their devices.
The new stage will host mainly pop and country music acts.
Summerfest CEO Don Smiley would not disclose the cost of the renovations but said it's in the millions of dollars.
“(The stage) will feature a 25-foot LED video screen, the largest video screen on the festival grounds,” said Jay Ellison, Vice president of Operations for U.S. Cellular
